The Rwenzori Association of Parents of Children with Disabilities (RAPCD) opened a primary school in 2010 for 15 blind or deaf children in Kasese, Western Uganda. From humble beginnings, this school has grown to almost 200 pupils who have a range of disabilities. It has earned recognition as one of the best special needs schools in Western Uganda. RAPCD has also built a secondary school so its students can continue their education. Both schools are funded by Accomplish Children's Trust.
Medical Missionary News (MMN) provided a generous grant last year to supply both schools with Braille textbooks and the equipment to produce Braille transcripts. This has transformed the quality of teaching for blind students.
