On 19 May 2018, four intrepid Accomplish volunteers set out to complete the Kyaninga Triathlon in Uganda, near the stunning Rwenzori Mountains. A special shout out goes to Accomplish's Treasurer Chris Acton (above, left) who managed to get lost and add an extra 2km to his triathlon! Chris was joined by maxillo-facial surgeon Caroline Acton, dentist Rob Dobson and paediatrician Chris Harris.
So far they have raised an incredible £5,395.30 to support children with disabilities in Africa; donations are still open until 16 July. Thank you to everyone who has donated. Every penny will go towards improving the lives of children living with disability, through education in schools and vocational training centres, improving access to healthcare, and helping impoverished families to become self-sustaining through agriculture.
After beginning their visit to Uganda with this feat of athleticism, the awesome foursome stayed on for a couple of weeks to visit Accomplish's partner organisations and meet some of the children and young people who are benefiting.
