Accomplish is delighted to be supported by wonderful patrons.
Harry Gration, MBE
Accomplish is thrilled to have broadcaster Harry Gration MBE as a Patron.
Harry presents BBC Look North for the Yorkshire region and has been a regular reporter and commentator for the BBC's Olympic and Commonwealth Games coverage. Harry has reported on virtually every major sport and has won two Royal Television Society Awards for his sports documentaries. He has kindly written a few words to introduce himself:
“It’s lovely to be involved with Accomplish Children’s Trust.
I have been a broadcaster since 1972 really. I trained as a teacher of History and taught whilst I was trying to get a full-time job in Radio. This I achieved in 1978 when I took up a three-month contract with Radio Leeds and gave up my job of Head of History for this gamble. It paid off. I moved to Look North in 1982, worked for network and ended up going to nine Olympic Games. I moved YP South Today based in Southampton for four years, before coming back to Look North in 1999.
I was awarded the MBE in December 2013 for services to broadcasting. It was a wonderful day for my family.
I love my church*, its community and its status in the city.”
*Harry attends St Edward the Confessor Church in York, along with Trustee Sue Baldock and Patron Rev. John Young.
